About The Boston Arts Academy Film Program

Our film/screenwriting program merges technology and 21^st century skills, emphasizing creative communication through the media arts. Lead by award-winning filmmaker and playwright John ADEkoje, the film/screenwriting concentration emphasizes students’ development as creators of content. Students are involved in the entire process, from pre-production planning, through script writing, production, and post-production. They learn about budget development and management, location scouting, screenwriting, lighting, sound, camera work, and editing.

Filmmaking is a highly collaborative art form that builds interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. As our students become increasingly sophisticated users of media and technology, we continue support their artistic development, as well as the development of their business and entrepreneurial skills through our groundbreaking film program.
